Children with Special Learning Needs


 

Mrs Julie Matthews is our Special Education Needs Coordinator, or SENCO. She is a qualified teacher with over 17 years’ experience working with primary aged children.  Mrs Matthews coordinates the provision and support for students identified with special educational needs by liaising with families, outside agencies, supporting classroom teachers and teacher’s aides. Mrs Matthews can also assist with the pastoral care of students; the mental and emotional well-being and general welfare of students.

 

 

Public Health Nurse


This is a reminder to our parent community that we have a Public Health Nurse available for our school.  A Public Health Nurse is a Registered Nurse who is available to discuss any concerns about your child’s health, growth and development.  This is a free service provided by the Waitemata District Health Board.

Our Public Health Nurse can help with:

  • your child’s health problems

  • skin and ear infections

  • asthma and eczema

  • bedwetting and soiling

  • hearing and vision concerns

  • nutrition and diet

  • advice about any other health concerns

  • family violence
