Ian Robinson

I have lived close to Tirimoana School for 15 years over which time I have watched it constantly change, evolve and grow. Old worn out play areas have been renewed, new buildings have been added. Blackboards have given way to modern technology.

But the Tirimoana School community that I value so highly remains constant. The values and expectations that are in place within a fun, exciting and vibrant atmosphere are the same. The smiling young five year olds continue to arrive and the fine young citizens leaving Tirimoana continue to impress the schools that they graduate to.

I am pleased and honoured to be elected to the Board, and I am committed to ensuring that Tirimoana School continues to evolve and improve.

I am a qualified accountant employed in the Computer Software industry working from an office located within short walk of the school. My daughter Katie started at Tirimoana in Year 1 in February 2013. I am married to Michelle who is involved in the local Scout group and the school PTA.

I am looking forward to meeting many people over the next few years, and I would welcome anyone who wishes to discuss anything with me including the many challenges we will face and have to resolve over the time I am a member of the Board.

Jonny Campbell

My name is Jonny Campbell, I am a 43-year-old Police Officer.  I am also a husband and a father to three beautiful daughters, the eldest of which is in Year Six this year at Tirimoana School. She has two younger sisters in Years 5 and 3. We will be a part of the Tirimoana community until 2022. I am currently serving my second term on the Tirimoana Board of Trustees, holding the Property Portfolio.

I am a hands-on Dad and get involved in all my girls’ activities, including their academic, athletic and recreational endeavours. My shift-work roster allows me to be involved in many areas of their lives that a lot of fathers miss out on, such as going on School outings, attending special Assemblies and helping with classroom activities. My wife is a Stay-at-home Mum and also feels lucky to be a part of the children’s learning in this way.

I believe that a well-rounded education is very important and as an avid technology enthusiast myself, I am excited about the future role technology will play in a child’s learning.

I have been a Police Officer for 21 years, and pride myself on my ability to relate to people from all walks of life, acting always with empathy and compassion. I am passionate about serving the community and being a positive role-model for children and families.

Fakaalofa lahi atu

I am excited to be elected on to the Board of Trustees for Tirimoana Primary School.

I am a family man first and a community man second but in both these spheres I am a proud Niuean man with a desire to be the voice for our Pacific people on this board.

In my professional capacity, I have worked in the Non-Government and Government sectors for the last 10 years serving most of my time Wellington.

I currently work at the Ministry for Pacific Peoples and hold leadership roles delivering better outcomes for Pacific communities. I believe these skills are not only transferable but will be an asset to the board.

I look forward to representing the parent community at the school and meeting our learners. Please contact me if you wish to chat about anything relating to the school, board, Maori and Pacific.

I leave you with a proverb that I use a guide when leading -

"It takes a village to raise a child".

I want to add to the village that is Tirimoana Primary School.
