Te Wao Ki Tai

Our new mural is called Te-Wao-Ki-Tai   /  The Forest to the Sea.

It was a project by one of our creative teachers - Miss Ann-Maree McAullay - and 7 of our Year 6 students.

On Friday 6th August we held a special Peace Assembly. We traditionally commemorate and remember the bombing of Hiroshima on this day - World Peace Day.

After our special Peace Assembly the whole school assembled on the front flagpole court in front of the new wall mural. Our kaumatua, Papa Paora, formally blessed the wall.  It was a lovely occasion and the sun stayed shining throughout.

Many classes spent time over the day drawing the mural and talking about the meaning of it.

One of our teachers said " {the wall} lifts my heart every time I look at it!"
