Cybersafety for Children

Keeping our children safe when they use the Internet or e-mail

Here are two sites that parents, children and teachers can refer to for any questions they might have about Internet safety and the use of email.

Hector's World is an interactive site where children can learn more about keeping safe while online.

On these sites there are useful hints, tips and contacts that can guide parents and caregivers to ensuring their children are using the internet and email safely and responsibly.

The free downloadable button is an online child-activated safety tool which children can use if they come across upsetting content while online.
Children can click on Hector's image on the computer screen if they suddenly see images that are upsetting them. As soon as they do this the whole screen changes to an underwater image and covers the upsetting content so that children can seek adult help.
