ANZAC Commemoration

On Friday 9th May we held a special ANZAC Assembly.

ANZAC Day fell in the holidays this year so we decided to spend a week in Term 1 focusing on the topic of ANZAC and the teaching of Resilience.

Students learned about what it was like for soldiers in the trenches of WW1 and WW2 and they thought deeply about the issues of war and peace and about those brave people who served in the wars.

The assembly began outside on the flagpole court. We heard students recite the ode and we watched students lay a wreath at the flagpole. Many of our students dressed up in their community service uniforms - Keas, Pippins, Cubs, St Johns were all represented.

After the outside ceremonies we had a fantastic assembly in the hall. Mr Immink has worked with students to make videos around the commemoration of ANZAC.
