Travelwise Seminar 2010

TravelWise is a programme run by the Auckland Regional Transport Authority (ARTA) in partnership with Auckland Regional Council, Land Transport New Zealand, Ministry of Health, Roadsafe Auckland, Auckland City Council, Franklin District Council, Manukau City Council, North Shore City Council, Papakura District Council, Rodney District Council and Waitakere City Council.

It’s part of the Region’s overall plan to create a world class transport network that makes Auckland an even better place to live, work and play.

The 2010 Seminar was held on Wednesday 25th August at the Hilton Hotel in Auckland City with a wide number of presentation topics and lots of inspirational stories. There were students, Local Council, Teachers and ARTA presenting on the day with lots of positive feedback from everyone involved:

Ms Mandy Vanderwee attended the seminar with two Year 6 students, Simon Anderson and Una Dubbelt-Leitch. The students presented a poster on behalf of our school about our own involvement with the Travelwise Plan.

Una says...

I really enjoyed the seminar and it was fun catching the train into town and back.  I think that the Travelwise Team organised it very well. I like how they had a range of activities for the kids.  As we arrived people who had come by public transport got a raffle ticket but we didn't win. Simon and I presented a Travelwise poster that we had made and we talked about it.  there were about 100 people altogether. I had a really fun time and is was a good experience for me.

We are working towards becoming a Gold Travelwise School.
