Year 6 Camp at Carey Park

This year 82 Year 6 students went to Carey Park Christian Camp in the Henderson Valley for an outdoor education experience. We started the experience on Tuesday 19th October - a hike of the Opanuku / Swanson Pipeline track in the Waitakeres. A good nights sleep and then off we went to camp for 2 nights and 3 days.

The weather was a little rainy at times but this did not stop any of the action. Some of the exciting activities were Flying fox, Kayaking, Confidence Course, Rock Climbing, Archery, Outdoor Cooking and Rifle Shooting. Children also fossicked in the stream for living creatures and checked the health of the Opanuku Stream.

The food was fabulous and the teacher and parents really enjoyed participating with children in activities outside the classroom and the home.

Thank you to all of those parents who gave their time to help at camp. Thanks must also go to our team of teachers - Sheridan O'Neill, Dan Miller and Lee Raeburn for their dedication and commitment to camp. Ms Mandy Vanderwee, Senior Dean, organised the camp. What a fantastic week!

It was a great occasion. See more photos under the Galleries tab.
