School Fundraising

In November 2009 we had a School Gala Day.  Our fundraising effort raised approximately $16,000.

We are very grateful to families who actively support our fundraising efforts. All of the money we raise goes to support learning activities / resources in our school.

We have a full programme of fundraising planned for 2010. Our first event was the Car Boot Sale on the evening of Friday 26th March.

During Term 2 We had a Fame-a-thon and raised approximately $7000. Every year we have an -a-thon where teachers and children focus for a time on facts that children can learn and practise and then test to earn their sponsorship. Children were asked to go home and seek sponsors from their circle of family and friends. This year children learned about famous people. These people may have affected lives or the course of history. There were six levels of difficulty and children worked to their own level of challenge.

Our PTA have also been running cake stalls every Friday afternoon at 3pm outside the school hall. Children in 2 classes each week were asked to bring an item of home baking to school on the Friday to sell. This fundraiser has been very popular with our community and we thank all of those families who supported it by either baking something to sell or giving a coin donation. We raised close to $200 each week of the Term.

Monies raised from the fundraising will help to buy kapa haka uniforms and also go towards our Sports Canopy to be constructed over the netball courts later this year.
